The following are the requirements to a member as a firefighter. Most requirements need only be completed before the end of the probationary period. We also provide in-house training for many of the requirements.
- Must be 18 Years of Age
- Must live in the Northern Piatt District or work a minimum of 40 hours within the district.
- Obtain and maintain a Class B (non-CDL) Drivers License
- Must maintain a clean driving record
- Complete all requirements of the Probationary Training (Firefighter Essentials)
- Attend the meeting and training once a month
- Maintain a valid CPR certification
- Attend department functions (fund raisers, open house, etc.)
- Attend one live fire training per year
- Must have a strong work ethic and willingness to learn
- Be commitmitted to your community
To become an officer you must also complete the following:
- EMS certification as a First Responder or above
- Firefighter Basic Certification (Firefighter II)
- Have at least 3 years of firefighting experience
