2011 Open House & Fire Prevention Week
Annual Open House October 12th 6-8pm
2011 Open house is sure to be the biggest and best so far. We will have our second annual sprinkler house demostration thansk to grant that we recievied last year through The Home Fire Sprinkler Coalition. We had a great turn out last year and we hope to see even more this year. If you were unable to make it last year this demostration allows you to see the difference's that fire sprinklers can have on a fire in your house. Again this year we will focus on the importance of having an exit plan, smoke alarm detection, and we will have the non-sprinklered room act as real life situation in which we will dispatch the fire department to the structure to give a realistic time frame for detection to extinguishment. We will also have a meal, lots of goodies for the whole family, kids games with prizes, and the kid favorite fire truck rides. We hope to see everyone there!
Piatt County Fire Prevention Week Kick Off Parade
On October 9th from 1-3pm the Piatt County Fire Departments will kick off Fire Prevention week with a fire truck parade from the Monicello High School to the downtown square. We will have an opening ceremony to kick Fire Prevention Week and will have all of the trucks representing the departments in Piatt county open for the public to see. This is the first time in Piatt County and we look forward to seeing a great turn out from the community members.
